BULWELL OUTLAWS BMX

Bulwell Outlaws BMX Summer Race Series

The final round of the Bulwell BMX Summer Race Series was held on 23rd August. For the past 7 weeks, riders have been racing at the Bulwell BMX track situated towards the top of Sellers Wood Road. Every rider has their own goals. For some, simply riding round the entire track is a huge achievement - it is not an easy track. Riders have received points from each race they competed in, and their best 4 results are used to produce their total points tally. In other words, it was not essential to attend all seven races. There was another great turn-out on Tuesday, with very competitive racing, as riders fought for points towards their final ranking. The 9-11 years and the 12-14 years were especially exciting because several riders had a chance of winning top place.

There were prizes on Tuesday for everyone who took part but the trophy presentations have been delayed for one week. There will be an extra race meeting, to be held on Tuesday 1st September, with the trophy presentation being held at 18:30. Everyone welcome from 18:00 onwards. More details and pictures, as well as all the latest BMX news, are available on the Bulwell Outlaws website.

The next organized activity is likely to be an Autumn/Winter series starting some time in September or October. Keep an eye on the website or for posters which will advertise the events. Alternatively, contact the club secretary, Phil Gray-Blest on 0115 9199971.

Under 9 Category

Wilfred Njunga won the under 9’s race on Tuesday, but Louis Gray-Blest won the series, having completed more races than Wilfred. Tara Duffy also raced for the first time and did very well, beating some of the boys who were older than her.
