What to Expect

The club is taking a race team to the Midland’s Regional BMX/MTB race at Bolehills, Sheffield. The race entry fee is £7 and anyone getting a lift should contribute £1 towards petrol. Parents/guardians may choose to make their own way by car, or to meet up at the Bulwell track and assist with transport, just in case there are too many riders and bikes for us to cope. Directions to the track can be found below. The trip is only open to members of the club, so please ask for a membership form if you need one. Membership for 2007 costs £10.
It is also essential that your bike is fit for racing:-

  • Remove anything that sticks out (stunt pegs, reflectors, kick stand, chain-guard)
  • There must be at least one working brake - most riders choose a back brake.
  • Handlebars must not be sticking out through the end of your grips.
  • You’ll also need a full face helmet, gloves, long sleeves, long trousers - but the club can help with equipment. Bring your race plate if you have one, otherwise temporary plates should be available at the track.

    Book your place

To book your place on the trip you will need to return a signed parental/guardian consent form along with your £8. Get your bike inspected at the Bulwell track on a Sunday. The sooner you can book your place the better, especially if demand is high.

    Plan for the day

We will meet at the Bulwell track at 09:30 am to load bikes onto the transport, either a trailer or a van. We should aim to get there before 11:00 am. Registration usually closes at 12.00. The length of the event depends upon how many people race so it is not possible to provide a precise return time. However, a good estimate would be back at Bulwell at 5:00pm. You can always phone or text Phil on 07985 419101.

Please return the form below, along with £8, to book your place on the trip.

I wish to travel on club transport and I understand that BMX Racing is a potentially dangerous sport.
