Boxing Race-Day Special

OK, one way or another, we’ll all be over-indulging over Christmas. Shake of the effects by getting down to the track on Sunday 26th December for a Boxing Race-Day Special. Of course, there may well be even more mince pies and the like to tuck into at the track! No doubt there will be a fair sprinkling of new bikes too - good old Santa. And I’d also like to think we’ll have the start gate up and running by then, let’s all keep our fingers crossed. Meet at 2.00 pm with racing starting by 2:30 sharp. We must start on time because it will get dark early - bleak mid-winter and all that.

Club Trips - Midland Regionals

The trip to Midlands Winter Regional Round 3 at Derby is already scheduled for 4th December. For those of you not yet booked onto the trip, make sure you get your consent form signed and don’t forget the registration fee of £5. Be at the Bulwell track before 09:30 so we can get all the bikes and riders loaded up and ready to roll. We need to get to Derby well before 11:00.

There will also be a club trip to round 4 at Bolehill (Sheffield) on January 15th. The cost of this trip will be £7 - which will cover the cost of registration as well as the cost of the transport. Consent forms and more details are available from events at the Bulwell track on Sunday afternoons, or from http://www.bulwelloutlaws.co.uk/events/bolehills.htm

We also hope to run trips to round 5 at Mansfield and round 6 at a venue yet to be confirmed.

Hopefully next year we’ll be running regional races at Bulwell.

Bulwell Gate Practice:

We will be running gate practice every Sunday, starting form from January 8th. However, there will not be any gate practice when there are Midland’s Winter Regional races

January 15th Sheffield Bolehills February 12th Mansfield March 19th TBC

The start gate system should be delivered before Christmas, so we can have a brief respite from racing and focus on developing specific skills such as gates, pumping, manualling etc. Gate practice will be from 2.00pm until 4.00pm on a Sunday and will continue to be held on Sundays until the Summer season starts, at which point it may be necessary to change it to a Saturday because regional and national races are held on Sundays.

And Finally…….

A great big Thank-you to everyone who has helped make this a very successful year for the Bulwell BMX Club. We have seen the club grow into something very exciting. Thanks for all the support from Debbie and Denise at Bulwell Vision. Thanks to Dene and Lisa for all their help. Thanks to all the parents who have got involved and made the club a truly viable prospect going forwards into 2006. Here’s wishing us all a very successful 2006.
